What is the role of the Chamber?

The Seaside Chamber of Commerce is one of the oldest organization in Seaside. For over 100 years the Chamber has driven economic growth and community advancement. We are the leading catalyst and advocate for businesses of all sizes. We proudly serve as the voice for business and community leaders.

Is the Chamber a government or political organization?

Our Chamber is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that is independently operated and funded. While we are not part of the city or county government, we work very closely with them. We believe in connecting members to local, state, and federal elected officials and providing information. We are governed by our Board of Directors. And ran by our Chamber Staff.

What will the Chamber do for me?

Your Chamber will advocate for you at city and state levels when needed. We will provide resources, contacts and opportunities for you and your business. We will get you face to face with community leaders, business owners, future partners and customers. We will promote and market you and your business via social media, print material, emails, phone calls and word of mouth.

If my business is a member, does that make me a member too?

Yes! When a business/organization becomes a member so do all the employed individuals and will receive the same benefits. Being a Chamber Member is an excellent way to get your employees involved in the community.

How many members does the Chamber have?

The Seaside Chamber of Commerce currently has over 300 members with representation from corporate, industrial, retail, finance, healthcare, hospitality, etc. We are very proud to say that 1/3 of our Chamber Members have been with us for over 15 years! And over 1/2 of our members have been with us for over 10 years! We don't take the lightly!

Are the majority of members small businesses?

Yes. Seaside is a small but mighty community. We serve businesses of all sizes. Most of our Chamber members are small businesses with less than 100 employees.

Does a business have to be located in Seaside to join the Chamber?

Nope! Chamber membership is open to any business that does business or has interest in doing business in this area. Businesses located outside of Clatsop County benefit just like any other member.

How much is Membership?

Membership investments are currently calculated based on several factors including type of business employees, hotel rooms and/or seats in a restaurant. We are starting the process of switching to a tiered dues system. What does that mean? Your membership dues won't increase if your business expands employees or spacing! YOU get to choose the level that fits best for you and your business.
